History: Jackson King was born sometime between 1967 and 1971, the son of Isiah King. While Isiah's wife was expecting, he was called up by the US government to undertake special talent testing. He tested exremely high for ESP/Telepathy, and was recruited into Team One, the first government "Superhero" team. However, he couldn't hack it in a combat situation, and soon left the team to undertake research aboard the Freedom One space station. Hw was there when the Comet effect occurred, driving him mad and changing a number of the crew members aboard into insanely powerful post-humans. It took the combined forces of the world to stop Despot and his Followers, who were cryogenically frozen following their capture.
Following this incident, the UN sanctioned to formation of Stormwatch, a paramilitary crisis intervention team, intended to stop such threats should they ever appear again. Stormwatch, headed by Henry Bendix, codenamed Weatherman One, would make almost exclusive use of Seedlings, people who shared a rare strand of DNA with those who were changed aboard Freedom One, but who were not changed by the Comet, but merely given the latent ability to change, which could be brought to the fore by an Activator. The Stormwatch Academy Program, given over to John Windsor, soon had an operational team: Battallion, Flashpoint(Foster McClane) and Nautika(Maya Royko). Alongside trainer Backlash(Mark Slayton, a Team one Veteran) and later recruit Sunburst(Karl Royko), they formed Stormwatch Prime. As Prime operated across the globe, other Stormwatch teams were being raised, reaching a grand total of three in the early 90s.
Stormwatch Prime, alongside Backlash, were deployed into the Persian Gulf during the Gulf War, and were involved in a battle with the mercenary post-human team called MERCs, who had running clashes with Stormwatch in those days. This battle, in an oilfield, left Battallion and Backlash the only standing members of Prime, the others missing presumed dead.
Batallion was assigned to head up Stormwatch One following the Persina Gulf Debacle, although he had no intention of serving another Tour of Duty. He was tired and weary of combat, and was ready to retire on his UN retainer. However, three events would change all that. The first was the death of John Windsor at the hands of the MERCs in Bosnia. The second was a MERC ambush of him at Windsor's funeral, which lead to the Activation of his brother Malcom's powers. The Third was the decimation of Stormwatch Two at the hands of Regent, an extradimensional tyrant. King re-enlisted in order to ensure that Malcom would be taken care of by Stormwatch, and in order to save Stormwatch Two's survivors from Regent.
Shortly after this, Stormwatch One were involved in a blockade of the renegade island nation of Gamorra, and learned that the MERCs had captured Sunburst, Nautika and Flashpoint alive and were holding them n the Gamorran capital of Hammer Bay. Batallon, along with Stormwatch members Fuji(Toshiro Misawa) and Hellstrike(Nigel Keane), illegaly infiltrated Hammer Bay and rescued their comrades.
It was during this period of Stormwatch's history that Batallion's on again off again relationship with Synergy(Christine Trelane) began to intensify. All that changed when King met Timespan.
Timespan was a renegade time traveller. He brought Batallion forward one year into his future, to see Skywatch, Stormwatch's space station HQ crashing to Earth, the team was completley changed, and Synergy was now Weatherman. The team were caught in a life or death battle with Despot, King's father. Even more terrifying was the fact that he had taken mental control of Malcom King, and murdered and resurected Stormwatch One's XO, Diva(Alessandra Fermi). After a brief fight, King was returned to his own time.
Following this event, King took a leave of absence, and broke into Skywatch at this time, intent on killing Despot while he was still in cryosleep. However, he couldn't pull the trigger. After this, he became somewhat morose and inward. He spent a lot of time working on his Augmentation armour. finally, Both Stormwatch One and Two were sent into battle at Muora Atoll, to stop a massive creature from detonating a bomb, and setting off a chain of volcanic eruptions(This creature was the WildC.A.T Maul, brainwashed and used by the Daemonite Lord Defile). King "died" during this battle, containing the explosion within a telekinetic shield.
However, King had faked his death, rigging a teleport command circut tied into Skywatch's transfer bays to carry himself to safety. He then set up in Death Valley, near the site where Skywatch would fall in a few months, and he began to train, fortifing both his body and his powers. He then waited for the battle to begin.
He arrived at the battlefield mere seconds after his past self returned to his own time, mbushed Despot, and was forced into a running battle with both Stormwatch and the Warguard, all controlled by Despot. He managed to defeat them all, with Despot being killed by Henry Bendix, newly reinstated as Weatherman.
King, along with the rest of Stormwatch One and Two's survivors took a leave of absence at his point, while a new team took their place. This team was badly mauled by a Terrorist group called El Fahtal, and Stormwatch One, bolstered by former Stormwatch Members Cannon(Mitchell Saunders) and Farenheit(Lauren Pennington), as well as Flashpoint, the only member of Stormwatch Prime still in active service, was reactivated to rescue them. They operated at optimum levels, despite doubts over their combat performance.
After this mission, Stormwatch was blessed with some downtime, in which King discovered that Marc Slayton was an I.O(Internal Operations, a high level US intelligence agency) mole, who was fed disinformation by Bendix. Enraged, King, as well as other Stormwatch operatives decided to have it out with Slayton. The next major Stormwatch action took place when the WildC.A.T.S, Wetworks, and Gen13(other teams of superhumans) attacked Gamorra Island. Gamorra requested UN aid, and sent Stormwatch. Stormwatch, along with the MERCs, fought a running battle with the other teams, until they discovered that they wee fighting for the "wrong side", and Flashpoint betrayed the team, revealing that he had been working with the MERCs since the Gulf War. Embarrassed, Stormwatch left Gamorra.
Following this incident, Bendix decided to restrucure the team, and vowed to never be used for such a purpose again. He fired nearly half the roster, and moved King to Backlash's old position, that of Team Trainer. The only advantage to King's new position was that he and Christine Trelane were able to continue their relationship without worry.
King saw no further action for some time, instead concentrating on doing his job. His next major foray into combat ocurred during the high incident, when Stormwatch were deployed against the High, a figure of incredible power, who along with a variety of other superhumans, wanted to change the world for the better. They had kidnapped Malcom King and tortured him for information. King entered the battlezone to rescue Malcom, but was quickly taken out by the torturer and assasin Blind. It was during this operation that Bendix's sinister plans to rework the planet in his own image were revealed. Following the battle, Bendix was missing presumed dead, and King was promoted to the position of Weatherman.
King's tenure as Weatherman was one full of deception and manipualtion, as he and Stormwatch played the various world powers to ther own tune, until a disaster occurred. An asteroid that was passing near Earth was found to have signs of life. A Skywatch research team was sent out, and they returned with an infestation of Aliens(yes, the movie Aliens). These creatures wiped out most of Stormwatch and Skywatch's crew as well, and the survivors were only saved by the arrival of the WildC.A.T.S, who managed to help the survivors get to earth, with the exception of Stormwatch's then field-leader Winter(Nikolas Kamarov), who piloted the station into the sun in order to destroy the infestation.
King was then greeted by the news that Stormwatch would not be resurrected for a third time. The UN didn't have the money to rebuild, and didn't have the inclination to, either. King and Christine Trelane then headed up the UN office for post-human affairs, and the four Stormwatch survivors, Flint(Victoria Obujke), Swift(Shen Li Min), Jack Hawksmoor, and Jenny Sparks were sent on their way. Of course, Sparks, Hawksmoor, and Swift would go on to form the Authority.
King and Trelane worked in the Office for over a year, when they were invited to a party on the Carrier, the Authority's Headquarters. King was reluctant to go, not being incredibly pleased with the Authority's tendency to go to Jackson and Christine when they needed help, and ignore them otherwise. He had a thoroughly bad time at the party, up until he picked a fght with Jack Hawksmoor, leader of the Authority since Jenny Sparks died on New Years eve, 1999. After the fight, Jackson had an epiphany of sorts, where images of his father and Henry Bendix advised him to take matters into his own hands. He and Christine left the party, she having had her own Epiphany as well, deciding to marry, gather the faithful, and put the world right....
