Wildstorm Rising

Manipulated by Defile, Stormwatch engages the WildC.A.T.s in combat whiule Defile makes a power grab for a buried Kheribum battleship. The teams eventually team up, along with other superhumans, defeat Defile's plans. however, towards the end of the conflict, The UN Security Council releases the Warguard from cryogenic suspension. The warguard escape and slaughter the crew of the UN moonbase, setting up residence there. The WildC.A.T.s seemingly sacrifice themselves to stop the battleship from destroying a large section of earth, leaving the crippled android Spartan behind. Stormwatch salvage and restore Spartan.
