On the Throne
All right, people. Just a few words before we call it a day, an afternoon, an evening, a night.
An existence.
If you're one of those people who read a letter column before reading the book, there's something wrong with you. Likely you're a terrible fop with enough literary pretensions to make dear dead Lord Byron proud. the rest of us don't want your kind round these parts, pardner.
get out! Get out now!
It ain't safe for you 'round these parts.
Now, on the other hand, if you just read the little tale presented in pages previous, welcome to the first issue of The Monarchy. As you probably guess by now, this isn't the kind of book that's gonna spell it all out for you from page one. That being the case, I hope you'll continue to stick around a while, sit a spell, and watch things unfold. Psychonaut Jackson King, chaos queen Christine Trelane, transdimensional super-priest Jon Farmer, Professor Q and the rest have quite a series of adventures ahead of them. there's blood and fire coming, people.
that I promise. Any more will be telling...
Before we go any further, there a a nuimber of people whom I wish to thank for their support.
To my wife, Janine Ellen Young, who puts up with more than any of you could possibly imagine. In loving me, she teaches me more than words may express. A word of advice: If you ever find another person who supports your dreams without doubts and urges you to make them real, hold on tight to that individual and never let them go.
next, I'd like to offer the highest praise to my new partners: John McCrea, Garry Leach, and Ian Hannin. They are wonder boys one and all and I'm absolutely blessed to get to work with them each and every month.
That's all, folks. Now fold your damned deck chairs and go home.
This land is ours!
